Russian Plasma Scientists Advance Flat Panel Technology

With a CRDF Next Steps to Market (NSTM) grant, Prof Lev Tsendin and a team of plasma scientists from St. Petersburg State Technical University joined Dr Vladimir Kolobov of CFD Research Corporation (Huntsville, AL) to develop software that will speed-up computational plasma technology for flat panel displays such as televisions. The research team successfully developed new add-on modules to the existing commercial plasma simulations software. Since the project's conclusion the software has been sold by CFD Research Corporation to the ESI Group. CFD Research Corporation plans to continue fruitful collaboration with St. Petersburg Technical University on various plasma technologies.
