Below are some commonly asked questions regarding the Grant Assistance Program (GAP) and projects administered under the program. This information is provided as guidance for GAP Recipients and Sponsor representatives. This information is general and the applicable rules may vary depending on the Sponsor requirements, project-specific conditions, and the specific contractual relationship between CRDF and the Sponsor. Should the information provided below conflict with the provisions of a specific CRDF program announcement or project agreement, the provisions of the program announcement and/or project agreement shall control. The information provided in this document is subject to revision by CRDF at any time and for any reason. - How do we apply?
- Our project involves more than one foreign recipient institution. What should we do?
- Can I save the form online so that I can fill out a part of it and then come back and complete the remainder?
- I was almost done with completing the online submission and got a time out error and lost all my work. What do I do?
- I do not have complete personnel information on the project participants? Can I submit the application with only partial information?
- I would like to set up a system where no payment is made by CRDF unless specifically approved by me? Can this be arranged?
- My agreement with the Recipient is based on submission of deliverables, not on a fixed time schedule. Can CRDF accommodate this?
- Can the Recipient Project Director determine the schedule of payments?
- Do I have to complete the payment schedule portion of the application spreadsheet? What if I don't know the payment schedule?
- The project we are supporting will take place over three years. At present we have been allocated one year of project funding. Do we have to submit a GAP application for each year?

- Who is responsible for the technical oversight of project work?
- What is the contractual relationship between CRDF, the Foreign Recipient Organization and the Sponsor Organization?

- Can CRDF advance funds on behalf of a Sponsor and then bill the Sponsor to be reimbursed?

- Can I transfer salary funds directly to the Recipient institute for distribution to the participants?
- Do the same salary rates that apply to CRDF grants apply to GAP projects as well?
- Is it allowed, as the project is in progress, to modify the technical content according to the intermediate project results? Can we also change the schedule of payments?
- If the expected deliverables are performed before the planned dates, is it possible to update the schedule of payments and pay the Recipients earlier than scheduled?
- Who holds title to equipment and property provided to the Foreign Recipient Organization under projects administered through GAP?
- We are planning on shipping high-tech research equipment to a Eurasian country. What kind of export issues should we consider?

- How can I receive payments under my GAP project?
