The U.S. Civilian Research & Development Foundation (CRDF) and the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR) are currently accepting proposals for the 2008 CGP-RFBR Multidisciplinary Climate Change Competition. This competition is open only to applicants from Russia. This program provides awards of approximately $75,000 for up to two years of support to joint research teams of U.S. and Russian scientists. Climate change and its impacts are global problems that require multinational solutions, and CRDF recognizes the importance of coordinating international research efforts on this topic. CRDF would like to apply its experience in supporting U.S.-Ukrainian research teams to address this critical issue. Proposals to the competition should be investigating one or more aspects of climate change. This could include studying the mechanisms of climate change, researching the effects of climate change, or developing technologies that may slow or reduce the impact of climate change.
