CRDF is currently accepting environmental science research proposals for its U.S.-Central Asia Research Travel grant competition. CRDF is pleased to provide an opportunity for Central Asian and U.S. scientists to develop cooperative research projects on environmental issues.
U.S.-Central Asia Research Travel Grant provides 12 to 24 months of support to joint research teams of U.S. and Central Asian scientists and engineers. Travel by at least one team is required, and travel by both teams is encouraged. Individuals from the following countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, and Uzbekistan) are eligible to submit proposals in collaboration with a U.S. researcher (citizen or permanent resident).
The U.S. Civilian Research & Development Foundation (CRDF) is currently accepting proposals for its 2008 Biomedical Research Competition. The primary goals of the Biomedical competition are to:
- Support high-quality, innovative, basic, and applied research and development by establishing sustainable joint U.S.-International research collaborations;
- Provide an alternative to emigration for International scientists.
This program provides up to two years of support to joint research teams of U.S. and International scientists. Proposals may be submitted for consideration on civilian research topics in the biomedical sciences.
Individuals from the following countries are eligible to submit proposals and serve as team members: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Moldova, Poland, Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.
CRDF announces a targeted, collaborative grant competition on HIV/AIDS and Drug Abuse. This grant competition is a follow-on activity to the April 2008 proposal development workshop in Kiev, Ukraine, which focused on identifying research agendas and developing regional proposals for innovative projects in one or more areas of HIV/AIDS and drug abuse research.
The goal of this grant competition is to initiate U.S.-Eurasian cooperation through high quality, innovative, collaborative proposals in the biological, biomedical, and behavioral sciences related to HIV/AIDS and drug abuse. These small grants will provide one- year’s support to joint research teams of U.S. and Eurasian scientists.

The STEP Business Partnership Grants competition (STEP BPG), conducted by the U.S. Civilian Research & Development Foundation (CRDF) and Moldovan Research and Development Association (MRDA), its STEP Partner organization, along with the Agency for Innovation and Technology (AITT) promotes research and development (R&D) partnerships between companies (Company) and teams of scientists (Science Team) to develop new commercial opportunities of economic benefit to both parties.
