Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Programs
Science & Technology Entrepreneur Programs (STEP) foster innovation by training, providing industry linkages, and seed funding to scientists and engineers to engage in partnerships with local business community. STEP promotes business growth by allowing entrepreneurial scientists to gather the skills, industry contacts, and funding necessary for success. This is accomplished through:
- Funding: Scientists partner with companies to pursue income-generating commercial projects and pitch their ideas to the panel and the greater innovation business community at an annual venture conference.
- Training: Practical business training and one-on-one assistance is available to scientists willing to engage in entrepreneurial activities. Free legal consultation is also provided at local offices.
- Linkages: STEP and local partner organizations unite scientists and companies through match-making events, workshops, conferences, and direct introductions.
